Willis S. Weagly Jr.

Willis S. “Bud” Weagly Jr., 82, formerly of Edenton, N.C., passed away Friday, April 19, 2013, in Masonic Village of Elizabethtown.

He was born June 13, 1930, in New Brighton, a son of the late Willis S. and Alberta E. Kross Weagly.

Mr. Weagly was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He retired from Kopper’s Co. as a foreman.

Mr. Weagly was a member of Edenton United Methodist Church, Unanimity Lodge F&AM of Edenton, a longtime member of Lions Club and a member of Albemarle Sound Barbershop Quartet.

He was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and served on the Governor’s One-on-One Program as a mentor.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma J. Hage Weagly; a daughter, Cynthia Frye and husband Ron of Elizabethtown; three sons, Philip Weagly and wife Lesa of Jacksonville, Fla., David Weagly and wife Lori of Quakertown and John Weagly and wife Luann of Winston-Salem, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date in Edenton.
