Nathan T. Roman

Nathan T. Roman, 30, of South Strabane Township, died Thursday April 25, 2013.

He was born January 17, 1983, in Washington, a son of Thomas D. Roman and Peggy Scarsellato Roman-Damerow, both of Canonsburg.

Mr. Roman was a graduate of Washington High School and Median School in Pittsburgh, where he became a certified orthotist and prosthetist.

Cumberland Coal Co. employed him as a coal miner for the past seven years.

He was Roman Catholic.

Mr. Roman was a member of United Mine Workers of America.

He loved going to concerts, especially to see Phish. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, camping, mountain biking, spending time with his family and going to the gym daily with his dad.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Casey Roman; a brother, Michael Damerow; and a stepbrother, Christopher Damerow, all of Canonsburg.

Also surviving are cousins, Christopher Roman, Elissa Roman Spangler, Brad, Elizabeth and Patrick Hoskin and Bianca and Ian Scarsellato; aunts and uncles, Ed and Gena Roman, Tom and Kathy Hoskin, Dan and Cathy Scarsellato and Marianella Scarsellato; and his stepfather, Harry Damerow.

Deceased are his paternal grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth DeAngelo Roman; his maternal grandparents, Carl and Lillian Cook Scarsellato; and a brother, Evan Damerow.

Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 194 East College Street, Canonsburg, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Peters Township. Donations may be made to Christian United Methodist Church, 44 Highland Road, Bethel Park, PA 15102.
