Lois E. Riffle
Lois E. Riffle, 84, of Houston, formerly of South Strabane and Aleppo, died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington, after being in failing health since October.
She was born January 16, 1929, in Butler, a daughter of the late Mildred Wendell Wallace.
Mrs. Riffle had resided in the South Strabane area for 58 years, prior to moving to Houston in 2009.
She was a former member of Grace Brethren Church and, at the time of her death, was a member of Abundant Life Baptist Church, both in Washington.
Mrs. Riffle was a 1947 graduate of the former Richhill Township High School in Wind Ridge.
She enjoyed playing dartball, flower gardening and the time she was able to spend with her family.
On August 6, 1951, she married Robert Luther Riffle, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara, wife of Warren Harkness of Triadelphia, W.Va., and Wendy, wife of William Kudaroski of Washington; two sons, Perry, husband of Jean Riffle, and Stephen, husband of Lynn Riffle, both of Washington; 12 grandchildren, Scott, Chris and Ryan Harkness, Julie Harkness Hastings, Jessie Riffle Simpson, Lori, Daniel, Stephen and Eric Riffle, Bethany Riffle Bailey, and Lindsey and Leah Kudaroski; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Hollingsworth of Huntsville, Ala., and Ramona Tharp of Warwood, W.Va.; and her only surviving uncle, James (Bun), husband of Violet (Jake) Wendell of Waynesburg.
Friends will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, with Pastor Jeff Deidrich officiating. Interment will follow in Centennial Cemetery, Aleppo Township, Greene County.
