Regis A. Brozier
Regis A. Brozier, 82, of Avella, died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
He was born January 28, 1931, in Avella, a son of the late Phil and Jean Tompsic Brozier.
Mr. Brozier was a graduate of Avella High School and attended California University of Pennsylvania, where he received his bachelor’s degree in English and mathematics.
After receiving his degree, he took a position teaching for one term until he was inducted into the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Avella.
Following his military service, he enjoyed a long and distinguished career as an English teacher at Burgettstown High School.
Mr. Brozier enjoyed singing, acting in plays at Washington Park Theater and traveling.
He belonged to the American Legion in Avella and Cross Creek Valley Senior Citizens Center. He was a member and treasurer of Avella Volunteer Fire Department and Cross Creek Valley Senior Citizens Center for many years.
Surviving are a sister, Virginia Boucher of the Alexandria, Va., area, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Deceased are brothers Ernest Brozier, Lawrence Brozier and Phil Brozier and a sister, Marianne McDermott.
At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Avella. Interment will be held in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Avella. A luncheon will follow in the church social hall.
