Marilyn J. Daugherty, 87, of Claysville, died at 9 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township, after suffering a stroke July 14, 2013.
She was born January 31, 1926, in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Arthur Earl and Nellie A. Murray Robinson.
Mrs. Daugherty resided in Fullerton, Calif., prior to moving to Donegal Township in 1965.
She was a 1944 graduate of the old Hickory High School.
Mrs. Daugherty was an accomplished artist, doing pencil sketchings and painting her sketchings. She crocheted and rode her horse, Ginger, as long as health permitted.
On September 5, 1964, she married Joseph Eben Daugherty Sr., who survives.
Also surviving are four stepchildren, Linda, wife of Milton Rice of Hickory, Diane Scott of Washington, Roy, husband of Debbie Daugherty of Morgan, and Ronald, husband of Sandy Daugherty of Meadow Lands; several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Labock of Greensburg; a brother, Alan, husband of Dorothy Robinson of Latrobe; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a stepson, Joseph E. Daugherty Jr.; her twin sister, Evelyn Darner; and a brother, Earl Robinson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, August 5, in Claysville Christian Church. Private graveside services and interment will be held in Claysville Cemetery.
