Retired mould maker served in Korea

Paul William Gehrke, 78, of Meadow Lands, died Friday, August 2, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.

He was born May 18, 1935, in Coshocton, Ohio, a son of the late William and Edna Wilson Gehrke.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, working on helicopters in Korea.

Mr. Gehrke was a retired mould maker, having worked for Metro Glass and Ball Glass and retiring from Penn Mould. He was a very active Boy Scout leader (Order of the Arrow). He was a member of Houston American Legion and enjoyed fishing.

On October 27, 1956, he married Mildred Brant, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, William Paul (Sharon) Gehrke of Canonsburg; a daughter, Patricia Gehrke of Meadow Lands; two sisters, Oneita Baker of Avonmore and Carol Kessinger of Arcadia, Fla.; and a grandchild, Timothy (fiancee Aleea Yevins) Gehrke.

Deceased are a sister, Alma Meyer, and an infant brother.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, with the Rev. Kenneth Schott officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
