Vietnam veteran

Harry “Doddie” E. Lambert Jr., 66, of McDonald, Mt. Pleasant Township, died Friday, August 2, 2013, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born November 1, 1946, in Newburg, W.Va., a son of Frances J. Wilt Lambert of Bulger and the late Harry E. Lambert Sr.

Mr. Lambert was a machine operator with Park Ohio of Aliquippa.

He was a Vietnam veteran. He was commander of Midway Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 520 and was chosen for parade and guard duty at the White House, while serving in the military.

Mr. Lambert enjoyed his dog, Scooter, and the outdoors.

Surviving are his wife of 13 years, Margaret “Peggy” Lander Lambert; sisters Mary Raab of Harrisburg and Loretta (Donald V.) Donaldson of Bulger; several nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Francis and Faye Lander.

Deceased, in addition to his father, are a sister, Dorothy Griffith; a brother, Robert Lambert; and mother-in-law Margaret Lander.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 9, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military rites will be accorded by Canonsburg Post 191 and Houston American Legion Post 902. A wake will be held following at the Midway Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 520
