Rose Marie Seward, 85, of South Fayette Township, died Thursday, August 8, 2013, in Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon.

She was born July 22, 1928, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Oscar and Anna Krakosz Desmet.

Mrs. Seward was a member of St. Mary Parish and McDonald-Cecil Senior Center.

She worked as a kitchen designer for Desmet Lumber in Cecil.

Surviving are three sons, David (Diane) Seward of Pottsville, Daniel (Pamela) Seward of Center Township, Beaver, and Donald Seward of South Fayette Township; a daughter, Diane Gauthier of Scott Township; six grandchildren, Laura (John) Liddle of Jacksonville, Fla., Christina Seward of Quakertown, Nichole (Harrison) Birch of Baltimore, Md., Ashton Seward of Center Township, Beaver, Chad Gauthier of Erie and Chelsia Gauthier of Scott Township; three great-grandchildren, Nora, Sara and Zane; three sisters, Joanne Walker of South Fayette Township, Norma (Tom) Wilkenson of Hookstown and Brenda Knaggs of Michigan.

Deceased are her husband, Peter Seward, who died in 1983, and a sister, in childhood.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Route 50), Cecil, where prayers of transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m. Monday, August 12, followed by a Christian funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Cecil, with Father Stan Gregorek, officiating. Interment will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
