Glenda H. Sweeney, 89, of Greensboro, died at 1:13 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013, in her home.

She was born January 16, 1924, in Monongahela Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late George and Bertha Mae Hamilton Pringle.

Mrs. Sweeney was a graduate of Mapletown High School and resided in the Greensboro area all of her life. She was a member of Mapletown Methodist Church and served as treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Greensboro and Monongahela Township Volunteer Fire Company.

Mrs. Sweeney enjoyed bowling, watching birds and playing bingo.

On May 2, 1945, she married Cliff Sweeney, who survives.

Also surviving are a brother, Jack Pringle and wife Rose of Greensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, in the funeral home. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mapletown Methodist Church, 928 Mapletown Road, Greensboro, PA 15338.
