Loved spending time with her grandchildren
Laverne C. McLaughlin, 83, of Washington, died Friday, August 16, 2013, in McMurray Hills Manor.
She was born August 31, 1929, in Carnegie, a daughter of Adam and Stella Suchoski Golinski.
Mrs. McLaughlin was a graduate of Scott High School.
She was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church in Washington for many years.
Mrs. McLaughlin was employed as a secretary by A.C. Pipe and later as a cashier by Shop ‘n Save grocery store.
Dancing, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren brought her great joy in her life.
Her husband, Harry E. McLaughlin, died in 1983.
Surviving are two daughters, Helen (Patrick) Rodgers of Pittsburgh and Freda (Ron) Vickless of Washington; five grandchildren, Joseph, Christopher and Amy Vickless and Brian and Alexis Rodgers; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Estelle Ankrum.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, August 19, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, 320 Henderson Avenue, Washington. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
