Amazing cook had huge love of animals
Mary Gardner, 81, of Canonsburg, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013, in McMurray.
She was born February 16, 1932, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Grace and William Franz.
Mrs. Gardner went to school in Mt. Lebanon.
On November 26, 1965, she married Herbert Gardner, who is deceased.
Deceased, in addition to her loving husband, are a brother, William Franz, and two sisters, Annabel Mills and Jerri Hobbs.
Surviving are children Thomas (Bette) Vanzin, Robert Vanzin, William (Janet) Vanzin, Sharon (Tony) Cammeron, Stephen (Doris) Vanzin and Mary (Jason) Grimmer; grandchildren Stephanie Thornton, Jessica DiFore, Jeremy Vanzin, Jennifer Vanzin, Jason Vanzin, Sean Carrigan, Bernadette Doss, Stephen Vanzin, Melissa Diamond, Lisa Vanzin and Jacob Grimmer; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gardner worked as a caregiver to others for many years.
She was an avid card player and an amazing cook. She had a huge love of animals. Her favorite time was spending days with her family.
Friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Beinhauer-Bogan Funeral Home, 164 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, PA 15317, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, with the Rev. Stewart E. Bair officiating. Interment will be held in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
