Loving husband, father, grandfather

Robert L. Johnson Jr., 64, of Warren, Ohio, formerly of Carmichaels, died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in his home.

He was born August 21, 1948, in Carmichaels, a son of the late Robert L. Johnson Sr. and Agnes G. Dugan Johnson.

Mr. Johnson served with the U.S. Navy with the Seabees and enjoyed fishing, hunting and collecting model diecast cars.

He retired as the groundskeeper supervisor for Lake-Sumter Community College in Leesburg, Fla.

Mr. Johnson always helped others and cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

On June 1, 1980, he married Bonnie M. McCormick, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Robert D. Mayle and wife Leann of Girard, Ohio, Steven M. Mayle and wife Shelley of Warren and Scott A. Mayle and fiancée Paula of Newton Falls, Ohio; five daughters, Dreama J. Shipman and husband Derrick of Umatilla, Fla., Ann M. Johnson and companion Keith of Sycamore, Doris E. Roach and companion Bill of Jefferson, Georginia Clayton and Robin C. King, both of Waynesburg; 41 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four brothers, James C. Johnson and wife Rose of Holbrook, Charles W. Johnson of Carmichaels, Carl E. Johnson and wife Shirley of Bobtown and John R. Johnson and fiancée Delilah of Smithfield; three sisters, Susan M. Sanders and husband Roland of Carmichaels, Virginia C. Helmick and husband Raymond of Navarre, Ohio, and Janet L. Anderson and husband Joe of Bobtown; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a sister and her husband, Sally and Robert Becker.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500,), Martin J. Yoskovich, director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, with the Rev. Bruce R. Judy officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, with military honors accorded by American Legion Post 400 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491.
