Avid Pittsburgh sports fan enjoyed golf
Thomas William Lanz, 57, of Houston, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in his home.
He was born December 1, 1955, in Pittsburgh, a son of Robert Lanz and Garnet Feldman Lanz Beech.
Mr. Lanz was a graduate of Peters Township High School.
He did woodworking and remodeling as a self-employed carpenter.
Mr. Lanz enjoyed golf, fishing and softball and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan of the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins.
Surviving are his companion of 13 years, Dawn Mavrich; four sisters, Barbara Lanz of Brandon, Fla., Mary Beth Kerr of Columbus, Ohio, Patty Shepley (Dave) of Venetia and Joan Angus (Mark) of Columbus; four brothers, Robert Lanz (Michelle) of Houston, Texas, Chris Lanz of Eighty Four, Jay Lanz of Abingdon, Va., and Joel Lanz (Pamela) of Apalachin, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
