Frances Schipps Crawford

Frances Schipps Crawford, 85, of St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Eighty Four, died Sunday, December 1, 2013, with her family by her side.
She was born on March 6, 1928, in Houston, a daughter of the late George and Alverta Seik Schipps.
Mrs. Crawford was a member of First Lutheran Church in Washington and attended Grace Lutheran Church in St. Petersburg.
She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, crafting and especially spending time with her family.
On June 5, 1948, she married Walter “Dutch” Crawford Jr., who passed away January 7, 1982.
Mrs. Crawford was the past president of North Strabane Township Democratic Women’s Club and served as the regional director of district 17. She was a member of North Strabane Township Ladies Auxiliary, part of North Strabane Volunteer Fire Department and a member of North Strabane Parks and Recreation Board and Senior Get-together Club of Eighty Four.
Surviving are three daughters, Beth Ann (John) Elzer of Canonsburg, Tacy (Ron) Ross of Canonsburg and Kay (Craig) Allwardt of St. Petersburg, with whom she made her home; three sisters, Viola Fawn Montgomery of Florida, Clea Bailey Camus of Mississippi and Carrie (Ronald) Holmstrom of Oklahoma; four grandsons, Jarrod Ross (Elizabeth Sollon) of Canonsburg, Aaron Ross (Libby Link) of McDonald, Shane (Shelle) Elzer of Erie and Ryne Elzer of Canonsburg; two granddaughters, Cierra Allwardt of St. Petersburg and Cheyenne Allwardt (Travis Mills) of Maine; two great-granddaughters, Reese and Kenlee Elzer; a great-grandson, Christopher Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are two granddaughters, Megan and Paige Ross and two brothers, Harold Schipps and Donsel Schipps.
A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., the time of service, Friday, December 6, with the Rev. Sue Petritis officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, PA, 15317, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director.
