Mildred Bennett Franks, 83, of Uniontown, formerly of Coal Center, died Monday, December 9, 2013.
She was born January 31, 1930, a daughter of the late Oliver Jennings and Wilhelmina McToll Shonts.
Mrs. Franks was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Uniontown and Calvary Church of the Nazarene in California, where she was very active in the choir and teaching Sunday school.
She was retired from Brownsville Hospital as a nursing assistant and unit clerk, after 28 years of service.
Surviving are a daughter, Rebecca (Gary) Livingston of Coal Center; a son, William Richard (Patricia) Bennett of Hayden, Colo.; a stepson, Earl (Rosie) Franks Jr. of Uniontown; a stepdaughter, Karen Zane of Uniontown; a sister, Olive Jean Humphries; grandchildren William and Brandie Bennett and Tara Livingston; great-grandchildren Jillian and Hailey Bennett; stepgrandchildren Jennifer and Jeff Zane; stepgreat-grandchildren Robert, Taylor and Kellen Zane; several nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Dorothy Stull.
In addition to her parents, deceased are her first husband, William J. Bennett; second husband Earl Franks Sr.; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home, 819 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, by Pastor Doug Quail. Interment will be private. Condolences may be sent to www.spallinofuneralhome.com.
