Betty Jean Bandish
Betty Jean Bandish, 86, of Carmichaels, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in Cherry Tree Lane Nursing Home, Uniontown.
Mrs. Bandish was born November 27, 1926, in Carmichaels, a daughter of the late Grant M. and Helen Ann Cope Tressler.
Surviving are four children, Candy J. Benford of Rices Landing, Joanne Bandish of Carmichaels, James H. Bandish and wife Elizabeth of Carmichaels and Paul Edward Bandish and wife Marjie of Rices Landing; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are her husband, Paul; a son, John Robert Bandish; and a brother, Grant M. Tressler Jr.
She was a member of St. Hugh Church.
Mrs. Bandish owned and operated Pappy’s Lounge in Carmichaels with her late husband.
She was a Greene County Democratic committeewoman for many years.
Mrs. Bandish enjoyed playing the organ and caring for her cats.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Lesako Funeral Home Inc., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, 724-966-5100, Paul M. Lesako, owner/funeral director/supervisor. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, in the funeral home chapel, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Hugh Church, Carmichaels, with the Rev. John Bauer, celebrant.
Interment will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
