June Elinor Coligan
June Elinor Coligan, 88, of Cecil, died Thursday, February 14, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital, with her family by her side.
She was born February 3, 1925, in Independence, a daughter of the late Howard and Augustine Tiessier Miller.
Mrs. Coligan was a member of McDonald-Cecil Senior Citizens. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and shopping and was an avid Steelers fan.
She was a homemaker and had worked at Bedner’s Farm Market and was assistant manager at the former Bard’s Ice Cream Shop.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald (Darla) Coligan and David Coligan both of Canonsburg; a daughter, Lori (Ken) McConnell of Washington; four grandchildren, Ronny (Eva) Bozick of Canonsburg, Kara (Greg) Proffit of Silversprings, Md., Amy (Shannon) Saylor of Chesterfield, Va., and Darla C. (Thor) Plants of Washington; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William “Babs” Coligan in 1977; two brothers, Howard and Wilbur “Trapper” Coligan; and a daughter-in-law, Gerry.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Route 50) Cecil, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 18, with Pastor Eric McAdams officiating. Interment will follow in Venice Cemetery.
