Paul A. Barnes

Paul A. “Adi” Barnes, 82, of Beallsville, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013, in Washington County Health Center, Chartiers Township.

He was born February 7, 1931, in Beallsville, a son of the late Joseph and Rosetta Nickeson Barnes.

Mr. Barnes was a 1949 graduate of Beallsville High School.

He worked for 28 years as a packer for Brockway Glass 7 in Washington. He retired in 1984 and then was employed for 12 years as a custodian at Washington Elks.

Mr. Barnes was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

He was an avid Steelers fan. He also enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.

On June 28, 1975, in Washington, he married Patty Heatley, who survives.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Barnes was the last of his immediate family.

Deceased are a brother, Joseph “Buster” Barnes; and two sisters, Lorraine Powers and Evelyn McCarty.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 23, with Pastor Jay Freudenberg officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
