Michael Patrick Calhoun
Michael Patrick Calhoun, 65, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, in his home.
He was born April 3, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa, a son of the late Charles and Mary Grout Calhoun.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Calhoun was employed by J&G Refractory in Carnegie.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of Burgettstown American Legion and its Honor Guard and Legion Riders. Mr. Calhoun enjoyed riding his Harley, camping at Tappan Lake, fishing and spending time with his granddaughter, Ava Jean, and his canine companion, Scooter.
Surviving are his wife, Roxanne Mendak Calhoun; a son, Patrick Calhoun of Hanover Township; a stepson, Derek Serish of Pittsburgh; a granddaughter, Ava Jean Serish; his mother-in-law, Patricia Mendak of Langeloth; and special friends Jack and Renee Chesnic, Bill and Patty Dugas, Tim and Sharlo Tkalcevic and Bo and Chops Wasik.
Deceased are siblings Bob, Les, Richard, Barb, Mary Lou, Denise, Alma and Doris.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 7, with the Rev. Allison Bauer officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military honors accorded by Burgettstown-Slovan Veterans of Foreign Wars.
