Mary A. Barnhill Barton

Mary A. Barnhill Barton, 95, of Melbourne, Fla., formerly of Canonsburg, died Monday, December 31, 2012, in her home. She was a Grace Avenue resident for many years.

She was born August 5, 1917, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Thomas and Alice Maude Price Barnhill.

On February 7, 1935, she married James H. Barton, who died July 20, 1974.

Surviving are two daughters, Verna (Adam) Konecko of Bayonne, N.J., and Mary (Roger) Henderson of Melbourne, with whom she made her home; two granddaughters, Patricia (Tom) Baldowski and Amanda (Gilbert) Henderson González; three grandsons, Kenneth (Hamida) Konecko, Brian (Kim) Henderson and Michael (Cori) Henderson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a daughter, Noralee Barton; a grandson, Bobby Carlile; and three brothers, Mary’s twin, Thomas C. Barnhill, and Harry and Fred Barnhill.

Friends will be received from noon to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 7. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Special Olympics at www.specialolympics.org in honor of Mrs. Barton’s daughter, Noralee Barton.
