Larry L. Day

Larry L. Day, 75, of Prosperity, died Tuesday, January 8, 2013, in his home.

He was born May 7, 1937, in Washington, a son of the late Orland and Frances Rutan Day.

Mr. Day was a 1955 graduate of Trinity High School.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and Vietnam War, retiring in 1977 as a petty officer, 1st Class, following 22 years of service.

Mr. Day was employed by Washington Hospital in the security department.

On May 5, 1961, in Claysville, he married Linda Brownlee, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Larry L. (Lisa) Day of Amity and Michael Day of Prosperity; a daughter, Lori (James) Adams; a brother, Ted (Myra) Day of Arizona; and three grandchildren, Andrew Adams and Kaylee and Cassidy Day.

Deceased are two brothers, Ron and Doug Day.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 11. Interment will follow in Prosperity Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Heart Association at www.heart.org, or to Hospice of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
