Walter L. Watson

Walter L. Watson, 79, of Washington, died Sunday, January 6, 2013, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, South Strabane Township.

He was born July 17, 1933, in Van Meter, a son of the late Dave and Lorraine Farmer Denson.

Mr. Watson was a member of St. Paul AME Church and was a 1952 graduate of Washington High School.

He retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service, including service during the Korean conflict and Vietnam War.

He last worked as greenskeeper in Waco, Texas.

Surviving are a brother, David “Tubby” Denson of Washington; and nieces and nephews Yvonne Denson, Lorraine (Thomas) Jackson, Morgan (Jan) Denson, Lawrence Denson and Nikki (Jason) Powell.

Deceased is a brother, Harriston Denson, who died in infancy.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of services, Friday, January 11, in Piatt & Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Joe Wheeler officiating.
