Lois J. Bercosky
Lois J. Bercosky, 83, of Marianna, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born March 3, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles and Velma Bonham Breese.
Mrs. Bercosky was a 1948 graduate of West Bethlehem High School.
On June 30, 1948, she married Wilbert F. “Duz” Bercosky, who preceded her in death.
As a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, reading, baking and gardening and loved being with her family.
Mrs. Bercosky was a member of General Society of Mayflower Descendants and a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Marianna, where she was a deaconess emeritus and held several other positions in the church through the years.
Surviving are two sons, Floyd C. Bercosky (Brenda) of Marianna and George Bercosky (Caroline) of Bentleyville; two daughters, Velma Iddings (Wray) of Marianna and Donna Hosack (Robert) of Scenery Hill; nine grandchildren, Adam Iddings, Angela Danneker, Andrea Dyson, Mandy Watson, Billy Gillis, Daniel Hosack, Jen Graff, Kristy Brichetti and Dalton Bercosky; seven great-grandchildren, Samantha Iddings, Spencer Iddings, Kaylee Danneker, Jacob Watson, Shelby Watson, Summer Gillis and Caleb Gillis; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, is a son-in-law, William Gillis.
Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville. Additional visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of service, Monday, January 14, in First Christian Church, 27 Barnard Avenue, Marianna, with Pastor Betty Riecks officiating.
