Anthony A. Jancart Jr.
Anthony A. “Tony” Jancart Jr., 96, of Joffre, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, in Heritage Valley, Sewickley.
He was born May 10, 1916, in Cherry Valley, the last child of the late Anthony Sr. and Mary Barr Jancart.
Mr. Jancart began working in the coal mines at the age of 14 and retired from Glenwillard Pipeline, where he was a crane operator. After retirement, he worked for Fuller Distributing Co. in Burgettstown.
He enjoyed restoring and working on cars.
Surviving are three sons, Dennis A. Jancart and wife Leslie of Burgettstown, Gary L. Jancart of Joffre and Robert A. Jancart, M.D., and wife Rosemary of Moon Township; and seven grandchildren, Denise Cohn and husband Justin and Jacob, Brian, Karl, Grace, Emily and Stephen Jancart.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Mary Louise Barr Jancart; a grandson, Benjamin Jancart; three brothers, Louis, Desire and Joseph Jancart; and two sisters, Josephine Wagner and Julian Nepolitan.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, with the Rev. Bob Staszewski officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, P.O. Box 488, Bulger, PA 15019.
