Helen E. Brunasky

Helen E. Brunasky, 85, of Houston, died peacefully Sunday, January 13, 2013, in Country Meadows Assisted Living Community, Bridgeville.

She was born July 2, 1927, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Theodore and Eva Shushereba Fecycz.

Mrs. Brunasky was a graduate of Canonsburg High School and a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Canonsburg.

She had been employed by the state of Pennsylvania in the Washington Unemployment Office.

Mrs. Brunasky enjoyed bowling, gardening and sewing.

On July 17, 1948, she married Richard J. Brunasky, who died May 24, 1999.

Surviving are two sons, Richard N. Brunasky and fiancée Joan of Houston and Kenneth T. Brunasky and wife Gwen of Bridgeville; and a sister, Mary Kotyk of Canonsburg.

Deceased are two brothers, Nicholas and John Fecycz.

Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m., the time of services, Wednesday, January 16, in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 601 Boone Avenue, Canonsburg, with the Very Rev. Joseph Oleynik officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
