Andrew M. Struzka Jr.
Andrew M. “Juke” Struzka Jr., 91, of Carlisle, formerly of West Alexander, passed away December 15, 2012.
He was born August 11, 1921, in Washington, a son of the late Andrew M. Sr. and Mildred Gettman Struzka.
Mr. Struzka was formerly employed at PNC in Washington.
He was U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Struzka was a former member of West Alexander Presbyterian Church.
He had a great sense of humor and loved baseball and traveling. As a child, his father would take him, his sister and the neighbor kids to Forbes Field, where he saw Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig play baseball. He had the honor of meeting Honus Wagner when he was young, as Wagner lived one block from his aunt, Agnes, and uncle, Van Gettman, in Carnegie.
Every summer when he was a young adult, his parents, sister and niece would visit a different state. When he was married, his wife, Millie, and he would travel to Florida.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Struzka; two stepchildren; and a niece, Elizabeth “Betsy” Linder (Danny) Golden of Burgettstown.
Deceased is a sister, Katherine “Betty” Struzka Linder, formerly of West Alexander.
Private burial was in West Alexander Cemetery.
