Mary Klovanish McMahon
Mary Klovanish McMahon, 82, of Wheeling, W.Va., was taken by the angels, while being comforted by her family, Monday, January 14, 2013, in Liza’s Place, Valley Hospice Care Center South, Wheeling.
She was born February 3, 1930, in Penowa, a daughter of the late Peter and Helen Herczuszky Klovanish.
Mrs. McMahon worked as a private nurse and licensed practical nurse for 10 years.
She was a former member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Avella and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church in Elm Grove, W.Va.
On September 13, 1950, she married Thomas J. McMahon, who died August 4, 1991.
In the last months of her life, a loving network of nieces and nephews provided family support.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ellen McMahon Zager and husband Larry Keckler of Divide, Colo.; two grandchildren, Paris Kathleen Reilley and Karen Jo Reilley; three great-grandchildren, Mary Autumn Massarro, Hope Noel Massarro and Joshua Brennan Massarro; and two sisters, Helen Huggins and husband Shirrel of Beach Bottom, W.Va., and Margaret Dougmore of Euclid, Ohio.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a sister, Anna Berry, and three brothers, Michael, John and Peter Klovanish.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Jerome A. Stefkovich Funeral Home Inc., 18 Campbell Street, Avella, PA 15312. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 95 Highland Avenue, Avella, with the Rev. Robert M. Staszewski officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Avella. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Church Building Fund.
