George Razum

George Razum, 85, formerly of Fallowfield Township, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg.

He was born May 27, 1927, in Marianna, a son of Joseph A. and Katherine Yurkovich Razum.

Mr. Razum was a member of Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville.

He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. A graduate of Charleroi High School and California State Teacher’s College, Mr. Razum retired from Bethlehem-Center School District, where he was a teacher for many years. He was also a farmer, having raised beef cattle.

Mr. Razum was a member of Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 354, Cokeburg.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Troutman Razum; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Pauline and Gilfert Mihalich of Smithton, Lillian Taylor of Monessen and Katherine and Ronald Zukauckas of Fallowfield Township; and two nieces and three nephews, Leonard Mihalich of Van Voorhis, Gail Lever of Princeton, Mass., Gil Mihalich of Bentelyville, Daniel Razum of Thailand and Cheryl Castillo of Dallas, Texas.

The staff in Walnut Ridge Memory Care took excellent care of Mr. Razum.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Leonard M. Pavlic Funeral Homes Inc., 405 Main Street, Bentleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, in Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville, with the Rev. Edward L. Yuhas, pastor, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. The family suggests memorials be made to one’s local humane society.
