Bertha M. Stasik

Bertha M. Stasik, 84, of Cecil, died Monday, January 21, 2013, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.

She was born November 13, 1928, in Carnegie, a daughter of the late Murray Ayers and the late Laura Black Ayers Eitenmiller.

She attended All Saints Polish National Catholic Church, Carnegie, and was a member of American Kennel Club. She lived to raise English bulldogs, enjoyed bowling, and had great pleasure in spending time with her family.

She worked as an aide for Kane Hospital and Friendship Village.

Surviving are five daughters, Bertha (Bill) Heintz of Weirton, W.Va., Mary Ann (Harry) Dantry of Cecil, Ramona (Dennis) Fleeher of Cecil, Helen (companion Jon McCulloch) Stasik of Canonsburg and Betty Jean (companion George Shepos) Kovach of Bridgeville; two sons, Leo (Kathy) Stasik of Elverson and Tony Stasik of Canonsburg; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Shirley) Ayers of Holderness, N.H.; and two sisters, Laura (Paul) Farrelly of Ellwood City and Ruth Ann (Sonny) Chauvet of Canonsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leon V. Stasik in 1993; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Stasik; a grandson, Mark Dantry; and a brother, Murray Ayers.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation. Friends are encouraged to attend a committal service at 12:30 p.m. Friday, January 25, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with the Very Rev. Richard Seiler officiating. Interment for her and her husband will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Arrangements are entrusted to Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, Cecil.
