Marjorie S. Carpenter
Marjorie S. Carpenter, 94, of Waynesburg, died Friday, January 18, 2013, in McMurray Hills Manor.
She was born Monday, March 25, 1918, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Frank K. Silveus and Anna Reynolds Silveus.
Mrs. Carpenter attended Waynesburg College and, for seven years, worked for the Model Shop Dress Shop, prior to getting married. She then worked in Harrisburg for the state and later returned to Waynesburg to work for the Greene County Tax Claim Bureau.
Her first husband, Earnest T. Faucett, whom she married in 1945, died in 1969. Her second husband, Charles L. Carpenter, whom she married in 1977, died in 1981.
She is survived by two nieces, Frankie Ann Bonifield of McMurray and Jonna Dee Wingard of Bethel Park; a nephew, Charles H. McCurdy of Pittsburgh; and two stepdaughters, Patty Baily of Waynesburg and Carmen Shultz of Waynesburg.
Deceased are two sisters, Mildred S. “Millie” McCurdy and Miriam Silveus.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of services, Saturday, January 26, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with Pastor Mark Snavely officiating. Burial will be in Greene Mount Cemetery, Waynesburg.
