William Paul Baker

William Paul “Bill” Baker, 79, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 19, 2013, in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Originally from Meadow Lands, Mr. Baker moved to Hyattsville, Md., in 1962. He worked as a stone mason in the Washington, D.C., area until 1976, when he moved to Phoenix, Ariz.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Kim Baker; daughter and son-in-law Joyce and Bill Spies; stepson and daughter-in-law James and Lori Perry; and grandchildren Daniel, Jessica, Matthew and Kristin Baker, Lauren and Heather Spies and David Perry. He also leaves remaining siblings Janice Marth of Washington, George Baker of Hyattsville, Larry Baker of Florida and James Baker of Phoenix.

He is preceded in death by wife Mary Rusinek Baker; second wife Irene Best Baker; stepdaughter Barbara Perry; and siblings Kenneth (Tuck) Baker and Marilyn Dragan.

He has many other friends and relatives who will miss him dearly.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, in American Legion Post 44, 7145 East 2nd Street, Scottsdale, Ariz. Donations may be made to Soldier’s Best Friend, 5955 West Peoria Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85312, 480-269-1738 or http://soldiersbestfriend.org.
