Mary Joan Knavish Koenig, 79, of Castle Shannon, died Friday, January 25, 2013.
She was the beloved wife for 53 years of the late Romuald E. “Ron” Koenig; devoted mother of Kathy (Gary) Rivet, Donna Koenig (Robert Kreke), Paul (Molly) Koenig, David (Rick Stachel) Koenig, Maura (John) McConnell, Joan (Bob) Grudi, Mark (Melanie) Koenig and Tom Johnston; sister of Rita Claire Koenig, Ray Knavish and the late Leonard “Bud” and Jack Knavish; loving grandmother of Megan and Kelly Rivet, Joshua, Ryan and Shannon Koenig, Caleb and Maggie McConnell, Madison and Morgan Grudi and Andrew and Mackenzie Koenig; and great-grandmother of Preston, Arthur, Felix and another angel due soon.
Friends will be welcomed from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Laughlin Memorial Chapel Inc., 1008 Castle Shannon Boulevard, Castle Shannon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, in St. Anne Church, 400 Hoodridge Drive, Castle Shannon. Interment will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
