Faith L. Gillogly
Retired dietician, seamstress enjoyed gardening
Faith L. Gillogly, 85, of Holbrook, Center Township, went on to heaven to be with her Lord at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in the home of her daughter, Linda Porter, after being in failing health for the past two years.
She was born May 3, 1928, in Center Township, Greene County, a daughter of the late Walter Ray and Nellie Grace Cumberledge Stockdale.
Mrs. Gillogly had resided on the property where she was born all her life.
She was a member of the former Claylick Run Methodist Church in Center Township and was a 1946 graduate of the former Rogersville High School.
Mrs. Gillogly was employed as a seamstress at the former Greenway Shirt Factory in Waynesburg, for 15 years, prior to being employed as a dietician at the former Curry Home in Franklin Township. She retired in 1993.
She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed gardening, canning and bird watching.
In December 1946, she married Jack Smith Gillogly, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Linda, wife of Ed Porter of Holbrook; four grandchildren, Andy Gillogly, Mike and C.J. Porter and Becky Porter Garber; eight great-grandchildren, Justin, Devin, Bryant and Ashlynn Gillogly, Nicole Garber and Tyler, Tucker and Cadyn Porter; a sister, Grace Isiminger of Hickory; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are three sons, Robert L., Kim S. and Jack S. Gillogly II; a grandson, Brian Lee Gillogly; seven sisters, Fern Stockdale, Helen Singleton, Polly Wise, Joy McCollum, Hope Basore, Blanche Brannon and Marie Stewart; and two brothers, Jack and Harry Stockdale.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, with the Rev. Vernon K.
