Retired McKeesport Hospital RN, active church member

Ruth Ann Williams, 56, of Eighty Four, died Sunday, July 7, 2013, in McKeesport Hospital, after a battle with breast cancer.

She was born June 29, 1957, in Eighty Four, a daughter of the late Hazel Wessel Miller.

Mrs. Williams was a 1975 graduate of Ringgold High School and a 1977 graduate of the Washington School of Nursing.

She was employed as a registered nurse at McKeesport Hospital for 36 years.

Mrs. Williams was a very active member of Thomas Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four, where she was a deacon and a founding member of its Knit Wits Club.

Surviving are her husband, Guy Edward Williams, with whom she celebrated 35 years of marriage February 10, 2013; son Timothy Guy Williams of Eighty Four; daughter Julie Lynn Sommer and husband Matthew Choi of Brentwood; grandchildren Juin, Hanna, Zoe and Jack Sommer; two sisters, Martha McCubbin and husband Frank of Selma, Ohio, and Linda Misanik and husband James of New Eagle; two brothers, Russell Miller and wife Glenda and Harry Miller, all of Eighty Four; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her mother, are four sisters, Mary Burkle, Thelma Burnworth Lucas, Doris Cunningham and Bertha Boyd.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery.
