David Kenneth Allison
Longtime Westinghouse Nuclear Fuels employee
David Kenneth Allison, 72, of Wellington, Colo., formerly of Waynesburg, died in his home Sunday, July 7, 2013, after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
He was born and raised in McKeesport, a son of Harry and Lorraine Allison.
Mr. Allison married his first wife, Betty, in 1960 and together they had four children. She died in 1997. In 2000, he married his longtime friend, Susan, with whom he has shared the past 13 years.
He worked as a quality-control engineer for Westinghouse Nuclear Fuels Division for 36 years. His job had him working in Monroeville and Columbia, S.C. He enjoyed hunting whitetail deer every year with his best friend, Bill Dean. He and Susan moved to Wellington earlier this year because of his declining health.
Surviving are three children, David Allison Jr., Mark (Karen) Allison and Tawnia (Steve) Booth, all in Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a stepdaughter, Nicole (Monte) Medina of Wellington.
In addition to his first wife, Betty, deceased are a son, Matthew; a brother, Paul; and a sister, Linda Allison.
