Washington homemaker enjoyed country, gospel music
Erla Jean Phillips, 80, of Washington, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.
She was born January 28, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Sylvester T. King and Vera Llewellyn King.
Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and enjoyed country and gospel music and was interested in crafts and dolls.
On August 12, 1951, she married Earl Duane Phillips, who died December 18, 1981.
Surviving are two sons, Earl Dale (Tracy) Phillips of Waynesburg and Charles Owen Phillips of Bruceton Mills, W.Va.; two daughters, Kathy Jean (Ed) Phillips Cox of Prosperity and Sharon Elizabeth (Greg) Rush of Waynesburg; two sisters, Elverna M. Ackley of Maryland and Lois E. Stollar of Ohio; 11 grandchildren, Angie Cox, Matt Cox, Tina M. Phillips, Jason D. Phillips, Teja L. Phillips, Cody D. Phillips, Sierra C. Phillips, Amy Jo Kennedy, Kelly Jean Toland, Christopher R. Burt and Erin E. Piatt; and 19 great-grandchildren, Chandler and Alexis Phillips, Coralynn, Alayna, Aaliyah and Brooklyn Phillips, Kyle Caldwell, Tyree and Tashina King, Britaney and Dalton Toland, Breanna, Nicholas, Nathan Seaman, Gauge and Mallory Piatt, Cassedy Bowman, Elaina Trumble and David Voytek.
Deceased are two brothers, Orville B. King and Theodore D. King.
There will be no public visitation. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20, in Washington Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
