C. Kenneth Mooney

1924-2013

C. Kenneth Mooney, 88, of Whitehall, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in his home.

He was born August 11, 1924, in Waynesburg, a son of the late William Stanford Mooney and Ida Rose Mooney.

Mr. Mooney was married to Ruth Ann Mason Mooney, who died June 27, 2004.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator and repairman for Anthony Crane Rental and Maxim Crane. He also worked on the family farm in Waynesburg.

Mr. Mooney served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific during World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was a longtime resident of the Baldwin-Whitehall area. He was a member of Fairall United Methodist Church in Waynesburg and a former member of the Pittsburgh Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Larry Ray Mooney of Baldwin and Mark G. Mooney of Jefferson Hills; a grandson, Patrick Mooney of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three brothers, John Mooney (Elva) of Washington, Bill Mooney (Jane) of Vermilion, Ohio, and Charles Mooney of Taylor, Mich.; and a sister, Mary Ann Filer of Waynesburg.

Deceased are two brothers, Robert Mooney and James Mooney, and two sisters, Alene Luzadder and Helen Husk.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, with the Rev. Ron Geisler officiating. Interment will follow in Fairall Cemetery, Whiteley Township. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com.
