Harold Ivery Sr., 76, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in his daughter’s home in Monongahela.
He was born March 31, 1937, in Washington, a son of the late James and Flossie Ward Ivery.
Mr. Ivery was a graduate of Trinity High School and a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 1197, retiring from Bethlehem Mine 60.
He loved spending time with his children and enjoyed cars and cooking.
Surviving are three sons and three daughters, Harold Ivery Jr. and wife Valerie of Westland, Lori Ivery of Monongahela, Mark Ivery and wife Peggy of Washington, Sylvia Dorsey of Las Vegas, Nev., Jerry Kelly and Jenny of Ellsworth, Jayia Williams of Canonsburg; a daughter-in-law, Tina Ivery of Monongahela; brother Carl Ivery and wife Mildred of Washington; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Yvonne Castor Ivery; a son, Gregory Ivery, who died July 19, 2001; and a brother, James Ivery Jr.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 22. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
