Marine was coal miner, mine-rescue firefighter
Kenneth E. Wiley, 64, of Eighty Four, died Monday, July 22, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
He was born July 18, 1949, in Washington, a son of Edna Piatt Wiley and the late James Wiley.
Mr. Wiley was a graduate of Bentworth High School and Dean Technical School.
He was a coal miner for 31 years and enjoyed the outdoors, rock climbing, and he especially loved his dog.
Mr. Wiley was proud of his service as a volunteer mine-rescue firefighter.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, having served in Vietnam and also was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Jennifer L. Nestor of Marianna; a brother, Dave (Darla) Wiley of Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Kathy (Larry) Capozzoli of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, McKenna and Blake Henry and Sammy and Jordan Nestor; three nieces, Jamie and Alyssa Capozzoli and Kara (John) Castagnoli; and a nephew, Patrick (Dawn) Wiley.
