Vietnam vet, Air Force retiree was AT&T district manager
Harold Phill Cunningham, 75, of North Avenue, Cameron, W.Va., died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
He was born September 26, 1937, in Olean, N.Y., a son of the late Harold and Edith Phillips Cunningham.
Mr. Cunningham was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He retired after 26 years as a senior master sergeant.
He was also retired from AT&T, after 20 years, as district manager.
Mr. Cunningham was a dispatcher for the Cameron Police Department and a former business owner in Cameron.
He was a member of American Legion Post 18 and Masonic Lodge 17 AF&AM, both of Cameron.
Mr. Cunningham enjoyed reading and was an avid reader. He loved golf and bowling and traveled throughout the world. He enjoyed family vacations and was a proud pap.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly Kisner Cunningham; four children, Harold Cunningham, Michele Strope, Cindy (David) Allen and Diane (Terry “Bo”) Antill; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and siblings Loretta Cheek, Patricia (William) Phillips, Robert (Debbie) Cunningham, Edis Hamilton, Roger (Mary) Cunningham, Kathy Tustin and Joyce (Fred) Fryman.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Anderson Funeral Home, 39 Maple Avenue, Cameron, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, with Pastor Larry Holtz officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Cameron. Masonic Lodge 17 and American Legion Post 18 will both conduct graveside services.
Homemaker worked at Greenway Factory
Lucille Davis, 98, of Brockway, died at 11:30 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, in Highlandview Healthcare, Brockway.
She was born May 28, 1915, a daughter of George B. and Ethel Kiger Lockhart.
Mrs. Davis was married to Floyd I. Davis, who died May 24, 1995.
She was a resident of Whiteley Township for 67 years, then moved to Hazen and later made her home in Brockway.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker, a charter member of Whiteley Township Farm Women and a member of the Busy Bees of Kirby United Methodist Church.
She attended Waynesburg University and was employed at Greenway Factory for 23 years.
She was a charter member of Kirby United Methodist Church and later Moorhead United Methodist Church in Brockway.
Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, flowers, crocheting and playing cards and dominoes.
Surviving are daughter Marjorie (Kenneth) Statler of Brockway; grandson Ronald Statler of DuBois; four great-grandchildren, Angela (Kenny) Mitchell, Adam (Ellie) Statler, Hillary (Derek) Marshall and Ashley (Lucas) Sheaffer; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is granddaughter Charlene Whelpley.
There will be no public calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, in Moorhead United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Robert Trask and the Rev. Walter Hehman officiating. Interment will be in Fairall Cemetery, Waynesburg. Memorials may be made to Moorhead UMC, 335 Main Street, Brockway, PA 15824.
Homemaker enjoyed going to bingo
Anna L. Rice Harford, 92, of Clarksville, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in the home of her daughter in Fredericktown.
She was born April 30, 1921, in Herbert, Fayette County, a daughter of the late Henry and Pearl Halterbaum Lane.
Mrs. Harford was married to the late Harold M. Rice, who died February 6, 1973, and William Harford, who died April 21, 1991.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed going to bingo.
Mrs. Harford was a member of Calvary Chapel in Fredericktown.
Surviving are six children, Robert (Theresa) Rice of Clarksville, Harold “Beanie” C. (Kathy) Rice of Clarksville, Pearl DeShields of Fredericktown, Dennis Rice of Berea, Ohio, Betty (Robert) Rush of Jefferson and James (Chris) Rice of Waynesburg; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Kathryn Meyers of Clarksville.
Deceased are a daughter, Sharon Wilcznski; three grandchildren; three brothers, James Lane, Henry Lane Jr. and William Lane; and five sisters, Alice Balmer, Mamie Goney, Evelyn Sahady, Blanche Karo and Harriet Carnathan.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, with Pastor John Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Peggy J. Large of Marion, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, in her home.

WWII, Korean War vet was steelworker, outdoorsman
Robert Martin, 89, of Washington, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
He was born March 22, 1924, in Uniontown, a son of Ruben Martin and Josephine Bryan Martin.
Mr. Martin was a graduate of South Union High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.
He was a steelworker for Abrasive Metals in Pittsburgh.
Mr. Martin was a member of Friendship Community Church and American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. In addition, he was a member of Lodge 228 F&AM in Uniontown and was a 32-degree Mason with the Valley of Pittsburgh.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and boating.
His wife of 66 years, Lorain Leslie Martin, survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Linda Matthews Alto (Sulo) of Scenery Hill and Lori Martin of Washington; two brothers, Ruben and Ronald Martin; five sisters, Lois Wolfe, Norma Wilde, Dawna Provance, Lorna Demeter and Lona Chambers; two grandchildren, Sherry Deberardinis and Ron Matthews; nine great-grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, Louis, Annina, Olivia, Natalie, Alyssa, McKenzie and Ronnie; and two great-great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jay.
Deceased are four brothers, Marshall, Charles, Herbert and Dwayne, and three sisters, his twin, Roberta, Jean and Margaret.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, with the Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Scenery Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
