Aldine “Dee” Cianelli, 94, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013, in Strabane Woods Assisted Living, South Strabane Township.

She was born September 18, 1918, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Anthony and Orldine D’Amico Dettore.

Mrs. Cianelli lived her entire life in Canonsburg, where she was a homemaker and member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

She had been a volunteer with Canonsburg Hospital Women’s Auxiliary for more than 35 years and had been a member of the former Catholic Daughters of the America’s Court Canonsburg 1211.

Mrs. Cianelli enjoyed playing cards with a group of friends for 40 years.

On January 18, 1941, she married Nick Cianelli Sr., who died January 2, 1987.

Surviving are two sons, Ron (Barbara) Cianelli of Washington and Nick Cianelli Jr. of Canonsburg; a daughter, Cathy (Jay) Romano of Cecil; five grandchildren, Nick (Susan) Cianelli, Victor Cianelli, Cara (Jake) Mowry and Jayson and Jaret Romano; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Deceased are a grandson, Joseph Cianelli; three sisters, Carmie Rod, Connie Stevenson and Virginia Warnick; and three brothers, Tim, Frank and Dave Dettore.

Friends are welcome from 8:30 to 10 a.m., the time of a Catholic blessing service, Saturday, July 27, in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg.
