Loving husband, father, pappy and uncle
James “Tom” Coble, 78, of Washington, formerly of Cherry Tree, passed away peacefully Friday, July 26, 2013.
He was born June 24, 1935, in Cherry Tree, a son of the late Rhuell and Esther Fletcher Coble.
Mr. Coble was the beloved husband of 50 years to Judy D. Clegg Coble; cherished father of Heather (Bob) Frye and Julie (David) Elling; special father-in-law of Brenda Coble; dear grandfather of Jordan, Delaney, Rylee, Rayne, Jessica, Bob Jr., Summer, Jimmy and Savannah; and brother of Jean (Wayne) Buterbaugh and Jack (Alma) Coble. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Blake T. Coble, a 25-year Pennsylvania State trooper, who was tragically killed October 4, 2012.
He was an active member for more than 30 years at Avery United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir. He also was a proud board member of Faith In Action.
Mr. Coble enjoyed going on cruises and traveling.
He was a proud U.S. Army veteran.
Above all, he was loved and will be dearly missed by his family.
Dr. Megaludis and staff and Family Hospice Center for Compassionate Care provided love and support to Mr. Coble.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday in Cremation & Funeral Care by Danielle Andy Belusko, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-260-5546. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, in Avery United Methodist Church, Washington, with Pastor Ruth Simmons officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice & Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243; Avery United Methodist Church, 1100 Gabby Avenue, Washington, PA 15301; and in care of Faith In Action, 69 East Beau Street, Washington, PA 15301.
