Brenda J. Zanakis-Stewart, 70, of Hickory, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013, in Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born October 8, 1942, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Harry F. and Mary Morgan Stubenbordt.
Mrs. Zanakis-Stewart worked for Industrial Scientific in its warehouse department.
She was a devoted sister, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her beloved companion of more than 40 years John D. Stewart; stepson Brian (Reba) Stewart of Charlotte, N.C.; stepdaughter Tia (Rick) Krah of McDonald; four grandsons, Brandon Chiera, Cade Krah, Brody Krah and Kevin Stewart; five sisters, Doris “Dori” Greely of Houston, Cealia Metz of Sharon, Kathleen (Gary) Spiegal of Finley, Ohio, Patricia Stubenbordt of Hookstown and Sarah Ellen (Vern) Smith of McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.
She also leaves her beloved dog, Darby, and “nephew dog,” Clancy.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a sister, Margaret Mary Jones.
Friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where a funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 1, with the Rev. Steven Parkhill officiating.
