Jean O. Wdowiak Mondell

Jean O. Wdowiak Mondell, 101, of Finleyville, died Monday, July 29, 2013, in the Center for Compassionate Care, Mt. Lebanon.
She was born November 5, 1911, in Chicago, Ill., a daughter of John and Mary Sawicki Wdowiak.
Mrs. Mondell was a homemaker and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville, Finleyville GoldenAgers, having served as president for many years, the Forever Young Club of Finleyville and Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6664 in South Park.
She enjoyed playing bingo at local churches and fire departments.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Book of Whitehall; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Joseph “Fats” Mondell, who died in January; and two sons, Albert Schriner and Charles “Cookie” LaSota.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 1, in St. Francis Church, Finleyville, with the Rev. Robert J. Boyle as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Pittsburgh. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Francis of Assisi Building Fund, 3609 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, PA 15332.
