Avid fisherman served in U.S. Marine Corps

Charles G. “Lucky” Pierce, 74, of Mt. Lebanon, died Friday, May 31, 2013.

He was the only surviving triplet born March 3, 1939, in Marianna, a son of the late Hazlett and Lena Shrontz Pierce.

Mr. Pierce was the beloved husband of Nancy Balint Pierce for 31 years; loving father of Joseph (Rachel) Pierce; grandfather of Matthew and Lindsay; and brother of Raymond (Elaine) Pierce of Fortville, Ind., and Elsie (Ed) Gray of Amity.

Also survivnig are numerous nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two infant brothers; a sister, Carrie Lee Reilly; and a brother, Hazlett “Dude” Pierce.

He was truly a good man and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Mr. Pierce was employed as a food service supervisor at the former Woodville State Hospital.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Mr. Pierce proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal from 1956 to 1958.

He was a member of the Bridgeville American Legion, Bridgeville Italian Club and Chartiers Valley Beagle Club.
