U.S. Army veteran was retired businessman
Donald Wayne Cox of Van Vleck, Texas, died Monday, May 27, 2013, in Bay Villa Health Care Center, Bay City, Texas.
He was born July 29, 1935, in McDonald, a son of the late Thomas A. and Minnie Katharine Rohde Cox.
After graduation from Cecil Township High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.
Mr. Cox retired from Phillips Petroleum, then attended small engine repair school and created his own business, Slim’s Small Engine Repair and Lawn Service, in Van Vleck, which he enjoyed operating until recent months.
Surviving are three children, Donald L. Cox and Rose Ann Grahek of New Brighton and John C. Cox of Beaver Falls; five grandchildren; three sisters, Katherine Everett of Canonsburg, Wilma Decker of Avella and Mildred Wonderling of Nemacolin; and a longtime companion, Hazel Liberty.
Deceased are three brothers, Charles, Nelson and Glen.
At the request of the deceased, viewing or services were scheduled prior to or after his cremation.
