Rosalie J. O’Neil, 80, of Bridgeville, formerly of Muse, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
She was born June 21, 1932, in Treveskyn, a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth M. McGregor O’Neil.
Miss O’Neil lived in Bridgeville and most of her life in Muse. She graduated with Cecil High School, Class of 1950, and from Slippery Rock College in 1954.
She had been a guidance counselor for Chartiers Valley School District for many years, prior to her retirement.
Miss O’Neil had been an avid skier in her younger years and enjoyed traveling the world with her friends.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Muse and was the last of her immediate family.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Margaret Gaynelle Smith and Collette O’Neil McAfee, and six brothers, Raymond, Donald, Gerald, William, John and Leroy O’Neil.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 5. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday in Holy Rosary Church, Muse, with the Rev. George DeVille, pastor, as celebrant.
