James M. Beros
Teamster’s Local 585 retiree loved family time
James M. “J.B.” Beros, 86, of Washington, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
He was born September 14, 1926, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Anthony and Mary Kuntz Beros.
Mr. Beros was a member of St. Patrick Church and attended Canonsburg High School.
Prior to his retirement, he was secretary, treasurer and principal officer of Teamster’s Local 585, President Teamster’s Joint Council 40 and one of the founding fathers of Pennsylvania Conference of Teamsters.
He loved spending time with his family on his farm and watching car races.
On June 21, 1948, he married Cloteel M. Hood, who died August 22, 2010.
Surviving are a son, James Beros (Christine) of Washington; two daughters, Leslie Lazorchak (Ed) of Canonsburg and Marianne Balsama of Canonsburg; and seven grandchildren, Wes Patnesky, Shanan Lazorchak, Kelly Lazorchak, Alexis Beros Corkery (Bryan), Taylor Layne Beros, Kaitlyn Balsama and Blake Balsama.
His lifelong friend and Teamster brother, Billy Johnston, was by his side constantly.
Deceased is a brother, George Beros.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director. Time of departing prayers and Mass will be held at at time to be announced Saturday, June 8, in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
