James C. Beatty, 38, of Bentleyville, died Thursday morning, June 6, 2013, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born February 16, 1975, in Washington, a son of James W. Beatty (Lynn) of West Union, W.Va., and Regina Bular Perkins (Jack) of Washington.

Mr. Beatty was a 1993 graduate of Washington High School and later graduated from Pittsburgh Technical Institute.

He worked as a mechanical designer for several area companies and later for Frac Tech as a line boss in the gas well industry.

Mr. Beatty was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Bentleyville and the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 237 in Beallsville.

On May 15, 2010, in First Presbyterian Church, Bentleyville, he married Casey Skriba, who survives.

Also surviving are a brother, Ryan J. Beatty (Jamie) of Morgantown, W.Va.; paternal grandmother Betty Beatty of Clarksville (Pitt Gas); and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are his maternal grandparents, Stanley S. “Riley” Bular Jr. and Gladys E. Bowman Bular.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday, June 9, in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Presbyterian Church, 812 Main Street, Bentleyville, with Pastor Andy Scott officiating. F&AM Lodge 237 will hold services at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made on behalf of the family to Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home.
