Lewis Guidi

Retired Chartiers Valley teacher, wrestling coach

Lewis Guidi died suddenly Wednesday, June 5, 2013.

He was the beloved husband and “best bud” of Sharon Ellis Guidi; loving father of Megan Guidi, Sarah (Casey McCloskey) Guidi, Natalie (Mike) Holmes, Monty Guidi and Lori (Federico) Gialone; brother of Gary Guidi, Alfreda Dulaney and the late Thomas Guidi; brother-in-law of Pat (Tina) Ellis, Mary Jo and Sandy Guidi; uncle of Patrick and Christopher Ellis and Beth, Chris, Freddy and Jaimie; and grandfather of Brittany, Tony, Brandon, Maria, Sam, Julie, Savannah and Gabriella.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Szafranski-Eberlein Funeral Home Inc., 101 Third Street, Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 10, in Our Lady of Grace Church, Pittsburgh.

Mr. Guidi was a retired teacher and wrestling coach in Chartiers Valley School District, an All-American wrestling champion at West Virginia University and was inducted into the West Virginia University Hall of Fame.

He will be missed by his former students, athletes, friends and members of his monthly breakfast club.
